How To Tune A 12 String Electric Guitar

This String Has The Same Format As The Strings To The Left.

You tune it half a step down to tone db or c#. Third string tune half a step down is the d string. Both strings will be tuned to “a.” tune the bottom of the two strings first.

Those Strings Are Octave Strings.

So you can see we tuned each string to the prior string. Tune the g string gradually. If this doesn’t straighten the neck enough, you’ll need to check the neck angle or forward pitch in relation to the body.

Place Your First Finger On The Fifth Fret On The 2 Nd String.

Then tune the lower four paired strings an octave higher (e a d g). For this string to tune guitar half step down you need to find the tone ab or g#. Don’t tighten to its full tension at first.
